Amusement Parks On Fire - S/T

This is one of those records for me that I won't listen to for a months and months, and then randomly put on and I love it just as much as the first time i heard it. I get sucked in and lost in this album, which is why i think it's great for driving or road trips.
This is their first full length from 2005, and admittedly I have barely listened to their other albums, so I am certainly biased in saying that it is my favorite. I just really like it. This borders on the heavier side of shoegaze which is what I really love. It's more bold than some of the more jangley, poppy shoegaze, which gets old really fast for me (see: the first pains of being pure at heart record) but is still super catchy and ethereal.
Give it a shot. I bet you'll like it.
Oh, and Venus In Cancer is a perfect mix tape track. Go ahead and impress someone.

Broadcast - Tender Buttons

In memory of Trish Keenan passing away last week, here is my favorite Broadcast record. Broadcast is an english band that formed in the mid-90's and were still a band up until their singer Trish passed away on the 19th of this month from pnemonia. Such a loss. Her voice is so awesome and it's really tragic to lose amazing and inspirational women in music.
This record came out in 2005 and it sounds like dark 60's electronica.
Listen to it.
RIP
